The myth also distinguishes between profane and sacred textiles and emphasizes archaic concepts, such as the hubris of desecrating divine materials, or political ones, such as defiance of the gods and authority. <br\/><br\/>The participating artists further explore the question: What is the legacy of the mortals\u2014men and women\u2014who internalized and immortalized the values of their societies by stylizing their intricate textile motifs and sophisticated techniques, in a world ravaged by conflict, egotism, madness, and greed?  <br\/><br\/>The exhibition features artists from Greece, Germany, Serbia, Sweden, Taiwan, Norway, China, the United States, Ukraine, Austria, New Zealand, and France working across the fields of art, design, crafts, photography, and fashion. Through their practice, the participating artists create, use, or redefine textiles as a medium, while challenging dominant narratives of gender and authority.
