I have chosen the color selection “Summer” in February 2022. In this very dark and gray time I needed some color and cheerfulness. It was during this period that the first graphic ceilings<\/a> were created. The carpet “Summer” was then added in September 2022 in the form shown. The Zeughausmesse in October 2022 in Berlin was the first exhibition where I had this carpet with me. There I won the first prize for applied art of the Berliner Volksbank!<\/p>\n

Michelle Mohr’s rugs are knotted, not woven. They look similar to knitted rugs, but are much firmer, less flexible and therefore very dimensionally stable. This type of production is inspired by macram\u00e9 and is unique. It also has nothing in common with the knotted carpets associated with the Orient. <\/p>\n

In the foreground of the design is the characteristic structure of the moving surface. In interaction with the material, a unique feel is created. In addition, this knotting technique can also be used to create patterns that are distinctly different in design from those of the weaving technique. The result is a play between structure and pattern. The wool rug is made of undyed sheep wool combined with dyed German merino wool.<\/p>\n

Both sides of the rugs can be used as the top side. The sides have two completely different structures and thus create completely different effects. <\/p>\n
